About Us
Established in 2001 in Phoenix AZ, the Brown Underground began initially as a means of listening to my favorite tracks while at work. Word soon spread and we gathered a small following. With listeners from all walks of life, from every corner of the world, the Brown Underground quickly established itself as purveyor of rare & hard-to-find soul oldies.
Comprised of a smooth blend of soulful tunes, love ballads, tearjerkers, group harmony, romantic grinders and classic R&B. We specialize in rare and hard-to-find slow love jams from the 50's, 60's and early 70's, many of which you will not hear anywhere else! We take pride in showcasing only the best in lost soul.
While much of the music presented herein received little to no airplay on terrestrial radio during their time, these songs comprise some the most beautiful ballads ever composed!
We pay homage to these artists and the sound they created as we do our part to keep the music alive!
Make no mistake, this is the REAL home of "Killer Oldies".

About Me: Happily married w/children. Born and raised in the barrios of west Phoenix, although currently residing in Mission TX. I began collecting music in the late 70's at a time when old school and oldies began playing an integral part of my teens, now at age 39 I have more music than you can shake a stick at. The music presented here within is just a glipse into the life of an avid seeker of soul. If it ain't oldies, it ain't shit!
Shoutouts to: Nick Aguirre, Gilbert Salazar, Ruben Molina, George Miller Jr, Bobby Medina, MC Blvd, Louis Fugar, Jeff Thomas, and the legendary Gene Chandler.
